What is miniature painting? — http://www.lathamstudios.com/rebeccasblog/blog/what-is-miniature-painting/

A Graphite Butterfly

This is new little graphite sketch/drawing of a butterfly. I will be starting a painting of it soon – A smaller painting.
It’s a Queen butterfly. The species is similar to a monarch, but a darker russet color and not as defined with black markings. I will be sketching out an arrangement of flowers and a background to add to it also.
